French operator Bouygues Telecom has formed a partnership with Alcatel-Lucent to jointly offer the "Fixe Synchro OmniPCX" service for SMEs. The unified VoIP and convergent fixed-mobile service will be sold by Alcatel-Lucent's partner resellers and integrators across the country. Alcatel's communications applications and equipment, based around the OmniPCX Office IPBX, will be integrated with Bouygues Telecom's fixed and mobile networks, and proposed under a monthly subscription per user. The Alcatel-Lucent IPBX will be installed in the client's facilities, rather than being hosted by the operator. With this approach SMEs need to make no initial investment and pay only subscriptions per site and per user. Calls to fixed phones in France and to company mobile phones are included in the bundle, mobiles are integrated into the business telephony system and all fixed phones use full IP.
