Jefferson National Wins "Outstanding Website" in the Web Marketing Association's 13th Annual WebAwards Competition

Jefferson National, a financial services innovator recognized for launching the industry's first flat-insurance fee variable annuity(1) with 4 times more tax-deferred investment options than the typical VA(2), has won "Outstanding Website" in the Web Marketing Association's 13th annual WebAward Competition for Website development. More than 2,000 sites from 45 countries were evaluated in 96 industry categories for this year's competition.

Jefferson National scored 63 out of a possible 70 points, surpassing both the Financial Services Industry average (47 points) and the "WebAwards" average (51.9 points) across all seven criteria: design, innovation, content, use of technology, interactivity, copy writing and ease of use. Jefferson National's site received a "Perfect 10" for interactivity and copywriting. Only four other entrants were named "Outstanding Website" in the Financial Services Category: BusinessWeek.com, Schwab MoneyWise, John Hancock Retirement Income & Rollover Solutions and Garanti Bank.

The competition was judged by a team of independent Internet professionals representing a variety of relevant disciplines of Web site development. Judges included members of the media, advertising executives, site designers, creative directors, corporate marketing executives, content providers and webmasters. "Great layout and consistent navigation. Good use of managed content and tools to provide useful information and capabilities such as print, bookmark and email," said one judge. A second judge noted "Very well designed and easy to use. The copy writing is also well done and speaks very well to the intended audience. Love the steamroller metaphor!"
