RCR Local Program Builds Communities of Telecom and Wireless Professionals in Industrys Top Global Markets

Arden Media Company today launched its new RCR Local event series to build communities of telecom and wireless professionals in the industry's top global markets. The program offers a forum for those professionals to network, share information and best practices, and perform grassroots consensus building on issues that affect their local market. The first RCR Local event will occur for the Silicon Valley community on November 5, 2009.

"We saw a vital need in the industry to cultivate communities of professionals that can network among themselves and address issues that are relevant to their specific geographies," said Jeff Mucci, CEO of Arden Media and publisher of RCR Wireless News. "During these challenging economic times, this type of community building can have a dramatic impact on business growth, employment, state and local government relations, and a host of other positive outcomes.

RCR Local will connect key companies and organizations in the top-30 global telecom and wireless markets as well as other industry-specific markets where significant mobile growth is expected. Th kick-off event (http://guest.cvent.com/EVENTS/Info/Summary.aspx?e=3cc15e17-b668-487a-a984-f63424ba1691) for RCR Local will take place November 5, 2009, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Decathlon Club in Santa Clara, Calif., featuring Silicon Valley-based speakers from Clearwire, Comcast and Sprint as well as representatives from the California Public Utilities Commission, which regulates privately owned telecom companies. Future events will occur throughout North America; EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa); Asia/Pacific, including India; and South America.

"The RCR Local program will facilitate a level of industry interaction between people and across organizations that will be a great asset in the continued growth of the mobile ecosystem," said Susan Schramm, Head of Marketing, North America at Nokia Siemens Networks. "Now more than ever, the industry needs this type of localized, community-building effort to evaluate issues, trends, public policies and other business drivers that affect our bottom line."
