'Daisy hires former Flexphone co-founder Russell Horton'

UK business communications company Daisy Group has appointed Flexphone co-founder Russell Horton as director of mobile operations, Mobile Today reported. Horton will handle all aspects of Daisy's mobile service provision, working alongside sales director Neil Gething. He took on the role at the start of this month. Horton will now be tasked with building a mobile specialist team at Daisy, as it looks to gain share through acquisitions. He will sit on the board. Horton was at Flexphone from 2003 to 2008, during which time the company was sold to Vodafone. Daisy Group bought Redstone's telecoms arm in August for GBP 17 million. The move was part of a GBP 39m acquisition spree that also included the purchase of telecoms and IT supplier Eurotel and communications and technology company AT Communications.
