'ER-Telecom claims lead in August broadband additions'

Russian fixed-line operator ER-Telecom has attracted the highest number of new broadband customers in August. Of all the recorded net additions, ER-Telecom attracted 18 percent, followed by Southern Telecom and North-West Telecom with 12 percent each, Comstar with 9 percent, Centertelecom with 7 percent, Sibirtelecom and Uralsvyazinform with 6 percent each, Akado with 5 percent, Volgatelecom with 3 percent, and other operators with 22 percent. In August, Comstar had the highest number of broadband subscribers (1.13 million), ahead of Centertelecom (932,000), Vimpelcom (905,000), Volgatelecom (824,000), ER-Telecom (763,000), North-West Telecom (745,000), Akado (633,000), Uralsvyazinform (595,000), Sibirtelecom (467,000) and Southern Telecom (450,000).
