Digivox and Sangoma Deliver IVR Solution to Brazil's Largest Bank

FutureCom 2009 - Sangoma(R) Technologies Corporation (TSX VENTURE: STC), a leading supplier of hardware and software enabling server-based voice and data communication applications, and Digivox, a manufacturer of IP and data solution platforms for the corporate market, announced they have delivered a large-scale IVR system to Brazil's largest financial institution, Bank of Brazil.

The IVR system is based on the Asterisk(R) open source telephony platform and runs a VoiceXML interpreter from SpeechVillage and a Portuguese language automatic speech recognition and text-to-speech engine from Loquendo, all working on top of Sangoma's award-winning telephony interface boards. The system offers a total capacity of 6,000 ports deployed at four Bank of Brazil sites, and leverages the scalability and impeccable voice quality of the Sangoma A108 cards.

"Bank of Brazil needed an IVR system that was in line with their business strategies and operational requirements. To win the bid for this project, we needed to deploy a system of the highest possible quality while delivering very low equipment costs," said Ary Vilhena Jr., CEO at Digivox. "Leveraging a standards-based platform, open source telephony and Sangoma's high-density telephony cards, we were able provide them with a solution that met all their criteria and integrated perfectly into the bank's existing call center environment."

While Sangoma has supported Brazilian partners such as Digivox for years with numerous successful implementations, the company recently renewed its commitment to further development of this market through product innovation and expansion of its Brazilian distribution network. In May 2009, Sangoma announced a new distribution partner enhancing product availability and local support in Brazil.

"We continue to be impressed with Digivox' ability to deliver innovative, large-scale projects to some of Brazil's leading organizations by leveraging open source telephony and our robust interface cards," said Serge Forest, Vice President of Marketing at Sangoma. "Digivox software-based communication solutions perfectly complement our product line and deliver true value to a wide variety of Brazilian institutions."

At the FutureCom event this week in Sao Paolo, Brazil, Sangoma showcases the Digivox IVR solutions in Booth #B17.
