Pizza 73 Makes It Easy to Celebrate National Pizza Month

To celebrate National Pizza Month, Pizza 73 will be bringing the fun of pizza to kids through fun for the community, fundraisers for children and online contests.

At the heart of Pizza Month is Slices for Smiles, a week-long fundraiser that raises proceeds and donations for children's hospitals thanks to a partnership with Children's Miracle Network. The fundraiser will take place the week of October 19 where a portion of the proceeds from the sale of a Pizza 73's $9.99 walk-in special, a 12" three topping medium pizza, will be donated to local children's hospitals in Western Canada. Donations will also be collected through online and phone-in orders, as well as through the sale of Children's Miracle Network balloons.

"Pizza is all about fun, especially for children," said Pat Finelli, chief marketing officer for Pizza Pizza and Pizza 73. "National Pizza Month gives us a great reason to have even more fun, while contributing to improving the lives of Canadian children."

"Through our partnership with Pizza 73, parents can bring a smile to their child's face while helping to protect the wellbeing of children requiring medical attention," said John Hartman, chief international officer for Children's Miracle Network. "Everyone loves pizza, and Canadian children's hospitals continually need more funding, so the fit could not be better."

Throughout October, four new Pizza 73 locations in Saskatoon, Lethbridge, Fort Saskatchewan and Okotoks will have extra reason to celebrate. These locations will be hosting Grand Opening celebrations for customers and the community during Slices for Smiles Week.

Pizza 73 will also be asking members of its Facebook page pizza-related trivia questions. The first person to respond with a correct answer will receive a $25 gift card. All subsequent participants that answer correctly will receive an online coupon code for a free dipping sauce.

Together with its parent company, Pizza Pizza Limited, Pizza 73 has helped to raise more than $281,000 for children's charities since the program was first introduced in 2007.
