Tata Elxsi's RoS-ES(TM) (Real Time Operating System for Embedded Systems) operating system is now available for Xtensa(R) customizable dataplane processors (DPUs) and Diamond Standard processors from Tensilica(R), Inc., according to the two companies. The high performance, small footprint operating system represents an important addition to the growing ecosystem of the popular Xtensa architecture. Tata Elxsi's RoS-ES is a compact real-time operating system (RTOS) that provides an impressive array of capabilities, making it well suited to networking and consumer electronics applications. More information on the RoS-ES RTOS is available at www.tataelxsi.com/roses.

"Tensilica processors come with a world-class ecosystem of partner products," stated Chris Jones, director of strategic alliances, Tensilica. "Tata Elxsi has drawn from their many years of Xtensa experience to deliver a high performance, cost-effective RTOS to Tensilica customers."

"Tensilica's processor cores are extremely efficient and, when paired with our RoS-ES RTOS, they are very effective SOC controllers," said Nitin Pai, general manager of marketing, Tata Elxsi Ltd. "The RoS-ES operating system is ideal for designers looking for an easy-to-use, small footprint RTOS for embedded devices that includes flexible licensing options, support, and a wide range of complementary product design and engineering services."
