Home Properties, Inc. Secures Data Center Investment With Tripwire Configuration Audit and Control Solutions

Tripwire(R) announced today that Home Properties, Inc., a publicly traded (NYSE: HME) multifamily real estate investment trust, has adopted Tripwire Enterprise, the world's leading configuration assessment and auditing solution, to improve security and ensure total visibility of change activity across the company's IT systems.

Just as its apartment residents expect a secure living environment at the hundreds of properties the company has acquired and managed over the years, Home Properties expects the same of its complex data center. By implementing Tripwire Enterprise, the company gains both extensive file integrity monitoring and automatic change auditing capabilities and a proven method for supporting change control policies.

In addition, Tripwire provides configuration assessment tests, evaluating every change for compliance with security and operational policies. Home Properties will leverage this functionality for critical systems, including a property management application that is key to its financial management processes.

"With over 37,000 apartment units in our real estate portfolio, our IT systems are in a continuous state of processing information and updating data," said Chris Berson, Vice President of Information Systems, Home Properties, Inc. "Tripwire Enterprise gives us a single point of control for detecting changes to servers, network devices, firewalls and application systems, providing accurate and timely information through alerts and customizable reports. This technology will play an important role in helping protect the stability of our critical production systems so we can maintain high availability for our users."

In addition to securing systems, Tripwire Enterprise's file integrity monitoring helps ensure the protection of sensitive documents that are critical to the business. Tripwire Enterprise provides automatic alerts about any suspicious change activity. If an issue arises, Tripwire offers remediation assistance to quickly fix out-of-compliance settings. Tripwire Enterprise automatically produces an audit trail that can be easily generated in reports used by system administrators to meet compliance regulations.

With Tripwire Enterprise's ability to track changes and assess configurations across physical and virtual environments, Home Properties is in a much stronger position to expand operations while maintaining visibility and control of its infrastructure.
