Google Ex-TAC Top Line Rises 8.4%, "Worst of the Recession is Behind Us" (GOOG)

10/15/2009-Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) reported Q3 EPS of $5.89, topping consensus estimates of $5.42. Revenues, ex-TAC, in the quarter rose 8.4% year-over-year to $4.38 billion, and came in ahead of consensus estimates of $4.24 billion. As of September 30th, Google employed 19,665 FT employees. Aggregate paid clicks increased approximately 14% over the third quarter of 2008 and increased approximately 4% over the second quarter of 2009.
"Google had a strong quarter -- we saw 7% year-over-year revenue growth despite the tough economic conditions," said Eric Schmidt, CEO of Google. "While there is a lot of uncertainty about the pace of economic recovery, we believe the worst of the recession is behind us and now feel confident about investing heavily in our future."
