Energy Curtailment Specialists, Inc Nominated for Prestigious Award

Platts announced on Monday, September 28th that Energy Curtailment Specialists, Inc (ECS), one of the leading demand response providers in the country, has been nominated for the third consecutive year to receive a 2009 Platts Global Energy Award in the Industry Leadership category. The Platts Global Energy awards were established in 1999, and have since become the most recognized awards program in the energy industry. The Industry Leadership Award honors companies that encourage and implement significant and fundamental changes in the energy industry. Companies that are elected to receive the Industry Leadership Award often act as models for other companies to follow.

ECS has been a leader in the demand response industry since its inception in 2001. Since then, ECS has experienced considerable growth and now represents over 5,000 customers nationwide. As a privately held enterprise, ECS has been a key figure in the growth of demand response as an actual business model, as opposed to its historical treatment as a value-added service provided primarily through utilities.
