Cisco to Form Strategic Partnership with Chengdu City

Global leading networking equipment supplier Cisco Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: CSCO and SEHK: 4333) will establish a strategic partnership with Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, southwest China.
The two parties will jointly to boost the execution of projects like intelligent city management, intelligent Internet industry services, intelligent Internet public services, intelligent Internet community services, and energy saving in the high-tech zone.
Moreover, Cisco will set up a green technology R&D lab in the high-tech zone in cooperation with University of Electronic Science and Technology of China.
In addition, the US-based company earlier announced that it would set up a green technology R&D lab in China in cooperation with Tsinghua University.
The united lab will concentrate on the development of network-based wireless sensor technologies and solutions for intelligent urbanization. The lab will conduct R&D initially and then, kick off commercial operation through urban planning projects, said an executive for Cisco China R&D center.
