Riverbed to Highlight IT Infrastructure Performance Solutions at GITEX 2009

Riverbed Technology (NASDAQ: RVBD), the IT infrastructure performance company for networks, applications and storage, today announced its participation at the 2009 Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX 2009) to be held from October 18 to 22, 2009 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. At the Riverbed(R) stand #Z-Q5, the company will highlight the benefits of its comprehensive wide area network (WAN) optimization solutions, including Steelhead(R) appliances, Riverbed Services Platform (RSP), Steelhead Mobile and Cascade(TM) appliances, to key Middle Eastern industries.

Riverbed IT infrastructure performance solutions allow businesses to free themselves from common IT constraints and increase the performance and value of their existing infrastructure and mission-critical applications such as file sharing, email, backup and recovery, document management systems, IT tools, ERP and CRM solutions. The comprehensive Riverbed WAN optimization product portfolio allows organizations to increase network throughput and application performance, typically by five to 50 times and in some cases up to 100 times. Enterprises in a myriad of industries, including oil and gas, financial services, telecommunications and construction, have already selected Riverbed as their WAN optimization vendor.

"GITEX is the region's premier technology event and serves as the ideal platform for us to showcase our cutting-edge product offerings," says Marcus Chambers, vice president sales, EMEA at Riverbed. "We believe the attendees at GITEX will benefit from an understanding of WAN optimization technology and specifically how Riverbed's solutions can help IT consolidation and cost savings initiatives."

Riverbed continues to meet the needs of today's businesses by partnering with industry leaders to enable enterprises to utilize Riverbed's core product offerings in additional use scenarios. Recently, the company obtained EMC qualification for its market-leading Steelhead appliances, thereby allowing companies to accelerate disaster recovery processes while reducing overall IT costs and to work compatibly with the Symmetrix Remote Data Facility/Asynchronous product (SRDF/A). The qualification means that joint customers can now deploy Riverbed WAN optimization solutions deep into their largest data centers with confidence.

Riverbed has also strengthened its partnership with Microsoft by providing enterprises with distributed workers and offices the best possible performance for their Microsoft-based applications and services. Customers are now able to run Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008, including branch services such as Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, media streaming and print services, on the RSP.(C) 2009 Al Bawaba (www.albawaba.com)
