DTE Energy announces hike in 2009 earnings guidance to USD3.20 to USD3.40 per share

Energy company DTE Energy (NYSE:DTE)Adeclared on Monday expectedA2009
operating earnings per share in the range of USD3.20 to USD3.40, an
improvement from the previously forecast range of USD2.75 to USD3.05
per share.
This stronger performance has been offset by the company's continuous
improvement programme, one-time cost reductions, strong results from
its non-utility operations and holding company tax benefits.

However, DTE Energy stated that its Detroit Edison and MichCon
utilities continue to face a challenging economic environment.

The company's employees have reportedly delivered more than USD100m in
cost savings this year through its continuous improvement programme,
while also improving utility service reliability and customer service.
