ProSieben has become the first TV broadcaster to launch its own Web & TV stick in Germany for mobile internet access. The new ProSieben Web & TV Stick allows users to surf the internet using the network of Vodafone Germany. The hardware is a combination of a UMTS and DVB-T stick, allowing users to receive free-to-air DVB-T programmes on the move. Web surfing via the ProSieben.de portal is free of charge, with all other web access charged at EUR 0.77 per hour. Customers must pay EUR 89.95 to purchase the stick, which comes with EUR 3 of starter credit. In addition to paying by the hour, users can opt to pay EUR 1.00 for daily (12 hours) access, EUR 3.99 for three days or EUR 8.99 for a week (domestic use). The stick can also be used in over 40 countries at a cost from EUR 19.95 per day (24 hours). Credit can be added to the stick using Vodafone CallNow vouchers or by credit card. Customers not interested in having DVB-T access can buy the UMTS stick with SIM card for EUR 39.95 (including EUR 5 credit). Customers owning a netbook with integrated UMTS module or other UMTS stick can purchase the SIM card on its own for EUR 14.95 (with EUR 10 credit).
