Akela Pharma announces director resignation

Akela Pharma, Inc., (TSX: AKL) a leader in the development of therapeutics for the treatment of pain, and the company's wholly owned subsidiary, PharmaForm, today announced the resignation of Raj Maheshwari from his position as a non-executive director of the company. Mr. Maheshwari served on Akela Pharma's board since June 2008. There are no current plans to replace this position, and the current five members will continue to carry out the duties of the board.

"Raj has been a valuable member of Akela's board and we thank him for his many contributions to the company during the time of his service," stated Gregory McKee, president and chief executive officer of Akela Pharma. "We wish Raj well in all his future endeavors."
