Messaging Anti-Abuse Working Group (MAAWG) Appoints Tara Natanson of Constant Contact to Senders SIG Leadership

Constant Contact(R), Inc. (Nasdaq: CTCT), a leading provider of email marketing and online surveys for small organizations, today announced that Tara Natanson, Constant Contact ISP relations manager, has been appointed co-chair of the Messaging Anti-Abuse Working (MAAWG) Senders Special Interest Group. MAAWG is an organization where network operators and vendors join forces to promote the use of permission-based email messaging.

"Tara has been in the trenches helping businesses employ email best practices for more than 10 years," said Jerry Upton, MAAWG Executive Director. "By committing her time to MAAWG, she and Constant Contact will make their expertise in permission-based email marketing available to the industry at large."

Natanson, representing Constant Contact, will be responsible for working with MAAWG and other members of the organization's sender SIG to create and guide projects which will benefit both senders and receivers. Natanson will work with two other co-chairs to determine goals and track progress of the SIG's subcommittee's ongoing activities and help set the senders agenda for the MAAWG General Meetings.

"Constant Contact is a leader in setting standards for permission-based email marketing for small businesses. We know that email bounces, spam filters and blocklists are major concerns for responsible email marketers. Confusion or ignorance of internet service providers' policies and industry best practices can lead well-intentioned businesses to being labeled as spammers," said Natanson. "These policies are important to protect recipients from unwanted messages. By following the policies, always seeking permission to mail, and respecting the inbox, businesses can build strong relationships with their customers without overwhelming them. By educating email marketers and maintaining a strong set of best practices, we can assure email will continue to be a viable medium for marketers."

"We are dedicated to helping small businesses build strong, trusted relationships with their customers, and our efforts and involvement with leading industry groups such as MAAWG are important investments in the bright future of this industry," said Gail Goodman, CEO of Constant Contact. "Having Tara serve as the co-chair of the MAAWG Senders SIG will help us continue delivering on our commitment to the marketplace to further the use of permission-based email messaging."
