Passport and Healthcare Management Systems Announce Partnership

Passport Health Communications, Inc. and Healthcare Management Systems(R) (HMS) have formalized their existing relationship to establish a corporate partnership. HMS will offer Passport's patient access management services as an integrated solution within various HMS health information systems and platforms.

"HMS is a leader in the health care information technology and services field with a growing client base of hospitals across the country. We've been working together for years, and our close proximity in Nashville -- the U.S. health care capital -- will allow us to build a strong partnership to serve the best interests of our mutual hospital clients," said Passport Executive Vice President Jeff Drake.

Hospitals implementing HMS platforms will have the opportunity to integrate Passport's insurance eligibility verification and other patient access management services into their front end workflows. Through an electronic data interchange Passport will automatically perform critical patient data checks and post information directly into the HMS platform with little to no manual interaction, increasing speed and efficiency and drastically reducing errors.

"HMS continues to pursue high value partnerships that benefit our customers and we are excited to work with a market leader in the health care payment processing services industry that understands the unique needs of small community hospitals," said HMS CEO Tom Stephenson.
