Fairchild Semiconductor said that it offers designers of 3G smart phones, cell phones, set-top boxes, security cameras and notebooks a camera switch portfolio that solves design challenges in these applications.
Fairchild said the application-specific solutions provide:
- Strong Isolation - Higher frequency cell phones, such as smart phones, need to manage parasitics for optimal signal integrity. As cameras within these phones move to higher resolutions, parasitic components can deteriorate signals. Fairchild answered this challenge with the image module switch, the FSA1211, to isolate parasitic components up to -45dB of OFF isolation.
- Multi-Interface Handling Capability - To comply with multiple camera interface such as MDDI, MIPI, and YUV, Fairchild has a number of solutions such as the FSA642.
- Design Flexibility - Place the image processor anywhere on the board with the added ability of isolating and serializing with Fairchild's uSerDes solutions, the FIN212 (40MHz) and FIN210 (48MHz).
- Reduced EMI - 3G phones are moving to higher frequencies, inherently generating unwanted EMI. Fairchild has a number of products that tackle this issue including the FSA1211, which reduces the radiated EMI of the signal path.
Fairchild Semiconductor offers solutions for portable applications. Its analog, audio, video, camera switches and USB switches are aimed to minimize redundant circuitry, eliminating connectors, simplifying design and conserving space in designs.
