"Balanced Performance Scorecard" Certificate Holders Honoured

The Performance Management Division at the General Secretariat of the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi organised yesterday a dinner banquet to honour Abu Dhabi government employees who have been awarded the international Balanced Scorecard Professional Certification. The event was held at the Shangri-La Hotel, Abu Dhabi, in the attendance of H.E. Mohammad Ahmad Al Bowardi, Secretary-General of the Executive Council and a number of top officials from the EC and other government entities in addition to Dr. David Norton, of the US-based Palladium Group. H.E. Abdullah Musleh Al-Ahbabi, Deputy Secretary-General of the General Secretariat of the Executive Council (GSEC), said: "As a part of GSEC's continuous efforts to contribute to building personnel and institutional capabilities of the government departments and organisations and to enable them to carry on their strategic plans according to the highest international standards, we have organised a number of Balanced Scorecard professional management training courses that have been attended by strategic planning professionals from different government departments. Today we are honouring 32 of them after they have been awarded this international accreditation. These distinguished employees will become the driving force of success to their departments on the road to accomplishing strategic plans".
Al-Ahbabi also pointed out that the Balanced Scorecard Professional Certification is considered to be one of the most up-to-date international practices for the implementation of strategic plans according to clear-cut systematic and scientific basis that enhance harmony and coordination between the different administrative units. This is in addition to concentrating on achieving the organisation's main strategic goals, based on the available resources.
"These continuous efforts come as realisation of the visionary leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler of the emirate of Abu Dhabi which clearly states that human resources should be the core target and main pillar of development. Building such capabilities is considered to be the real long-term investment in the country's resources, building its future and caring for its posterity," he added."We are aware that we have a long way to go and that our leadership have big ambitions to fulfil, but we are very confident and resilient. Under the directives of His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, training programmes have been rolled out for all government departments and entities to help them carry on their strategic plans in accordance with the international standards of excellence," Al-Ahbabi continued.
His Excellency also highlighted the importance of fostering strong coordination between government departments with the aim of realising the emirate's strategic goals. He voiced his gratitude to the Secretary-General of the Executive Council for the continuous support and encouragement he gives to Abu Dhabi government employees to help them attain performance excellence. He also thanked Dr. David Norton and his team for their significant contribution to make the programme a success, in addition to the continuous technical support they provide to the government teams. Al-Ahbabi thanked the GSEC team and the strategic planning teams of different government entities for their efforts to make such a major drive a success. His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Executive Council honoured the certificate holders wishing them all the success. More than 160 members of the strategic planning teams of different entities of Abu Dhabi government have attended the Balanced Performance Scorecard training courses organised by the GSEC so far.
