Power system faces 3199 MW shortfall

The Ministry of Water and Power said on Friday that due to hot weather in day time, there is a gap between demand and supply of power. In a press release issued here, it said the total power generation was 11372 MW whereas its demand was 14571 MW thereby making shortfall of 3199 MW.

The Ministry also said that the total power supplied to Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) was 640 MW.
