BeyondTrust Names Enterprise Software and Security Veteran Brian T. Anderson Company's First Chief Marketing Officer

BeyondTrust, the leading provider of Privileged Access Lifecycle Management solutions, today announced the appointment of enterprise software executive Brian Anderson as its first ever chief marketing officer. Anderson brings more than 25 years of global enterprise software and security industry experience to his role at BeyondTrust.

Reporting directly to CEO John Mutch, Anderson will lead all aspects of corporate brand development; including the corporate marketing strategy process, current situation analysis, allocation of marketing resources and monitoring results. In addition, he will also be responsible for building a VAR channel to expand distribution for BeyondTrust products globally.

"Brian comes to us with a long, sustained track record of marketing and value creation accomplishments," said John Mutch, CEO of BeyondTrust. "Brian will lead development and execution of all lead demand generation programs, the single most important driver of our revenue growth capability. He and his team will focus on establishing a system and process for measuring the effectiveness of our marketing efforts as we expand our reach globally."

At BeyondTrust, Anderson will be responsible for all aspects of corporate brand development, lead and demand generation to increase awareness and interest in all customer and investors segments.

Anderson and his team will work with BeyondTrust's sales leadership to develop a global strategy, plan and operational execution for building the VAR channel, including managing marketing and sales programs such as sales campaigns, sales automation systems, MDF, training, education and certification.

Anderson and his team will contribute to market research initiatives, customer segmentation analysis, product life cycle analysis and create a consistent set of program tools and strategies to drive customer and partner relationship at BeyondTrust.

"The increasing risk of security breaches and data loss continues to affect organizations of all sizes in every geography," said Anderson. "BeyondTrust has a unique opportunity to build a brand and generate demand by creating a VAR channel for its products in the privileged access management lifecycle space."

Before joining BeyondTrust, Anderson served as chief marketing officer for Siderean Software, where he successfully rebranded the product to a huge sales increase, rave reviews and numerous awards including "innovator" status in the Gartner Magic Quadrant.

He also served as CMO at Avamar Technologies, where he also rebranded the product resulting in a huge revenue increase and numerous awards. Avamar was subsequently acquired by EMC. Prior to Avamar, Anderson was director of marketing at IBM's Tivoli Security and Storage, a role he inherited after successful building industry leader Access360's brand and sales pipeline through successful positioning for a sale to IBM. Anderson also served as CMO of HNC Software, which experienced tremendous growth during his tenure and was successfully acquired by Fair Isaac in 2002.

Anderson served for seven years prior to HNC at FileNet Corporation culminating in his role as vice president, worldwide corporate marketing. At FileNet, Anderson built a tremendous channel sales organization which ultimately represented 50 percent of the company's revenue.
