Messaging Security Technologies from Commtouch Chosen to Enhance Endian Unified Threat Management Products

Endian and Commtouch(R) (NASDAQ:CTCH) today announced an agreement to integrate Commtouch Anti-Spam and Zero-Hour Virus Outbreak Protection into Endian's unified threat management (UTM) appliances.

The Endian UTM product family features all-in-one security including network security/firewall, Web security, mail security, VPN, hotspot, multi-WAN and other functionalities, for protection against Internet threats including spam, phishing, virus outbreaks and data theft. The Endian UTM hardware appliance and Endian UTM software appliance can be used on standard servers or in virtualized environments.

"We selected Commtouch technology because it was the best solution to integrate with our products and many customers were asking for it," said Raphael Vallazza, CEO of Endian. "As opposed to open source solutions, the biggest advantage we found for the user is that Commtouch requires no training, and its Recurrent Pattern Detection (RPD) technology offers excellent spam, phishing and virus outbreak detection ratios right away."

Endian's appliances are sold to small and medium businesses in more than 30 countries worldwide, including Italy, Germany, USA and Australia. The company plans to expand its work with large businesses and its presence in Japan, India, Brazil, Thailand and others over the next year.

"Small and medium businesses are spending more than large businesses on managing their messaging security solutions and are, therefore, seeking all-inclusive solutions that can most effectively secure their networks," said Ido Hadari, Commtouch vice president of international sales and business development. "As a leading provider of messaging and Web security technologies in the UTM market, we are pleased to have the opportunity to help Endian protect its customers who have come to rely on the advanced, all-in-one coverage Endian provides."
