Kenya Airways chief executive office Titus Naikuni suffered injuries in a fight between patrons and assailants at a restaurant in the city's outskirts.
The incident happened at around 8pm at the Whispering Thorns in Kiserian, on the outskirts of Nairobi, at the weekend.
According to police reports, four men armed with clubs stormed the restaurant, ordered the patrons to surrender their cash, mobile phones and other valuables.
But on realizing the attackers were not "properly armed," the patrons fought back.
Police were called in and arrived as the assailants were running away from the area.
Two of them were arrested outside the restaurant and stolen items, including Mr Naikuni's phone, recovered from them.
The CEO was treated for the injuries at a city hospital.
Ngong division police commander Khamis Mabeya told the Nation that those arrested would be arraigned in court.
