COMPUTERSHARE TO BUY UK-BASED SHARE PLANNER

Global share registry operator Computershare Ltd (ASX:CPU) has agreed to terms for the purchase of HBOS Employee Equity Solutions from Lloyds Banking Group for STG40 million (US$65.2 million).

HBOS Employee Equity Solutions is a leading global employee share plans provider based in the UK, with revenue of approximately STG25 million ($A44.2 million).

The acquisition will be funded by cash and existing debt facilities, and is expected to be earnings per share positive by fiscal 2011, Computershare said on Tuesday.

"Our ability to successfully integrate businesses using our proprietary software systems has been proven in the past and we are confident that our new clients will experience enhanced service," Computershare chief executive Stuart Crosby said in a statement.

The acquisition is expected to be completed by December, pending regulatory approval.
