Whirlpool Secures Backing from Suning to Sell Conditioners

US-based white appliance maker Whirlpool said yesterday that it was scheduled to launch high-efficient four-way-venting embedded air conditioners on October 30 via 116 stores of home appliance retailer Suning Appliance Chain Store Group Co., Ltd. (SZSE: 2024) in 29 Chinese cities.

Such a move by Whirlpool is the latest of the high-profile marketing campaigns since its returning to the markets of household air conditioner, water heater, ice box, and washing machine in this country.

Going forward, Suning will provide users of Whirlpool air conditioners with installation, after-sales, and maintenance services.

Suning Spokesperson Min Juanqing discloses that Suning clinched a strategic cooperation agreement with Whirlpool in Nanjing on September 23, under which Suning will manage to sell more than CNY 20 billion worth of Whirlpool home appliances in China in the coming five years.

Moreover, the two parties will also cooperate to integrate B2B database, provide trainings, and broaden their offerings.
