Adaptec RAID controllers selected for deployment in Japan

Provider of data centre I/O solutions Adaptec Inc (Nasdaq: ADPT) today announced that its Unified Serial RAID controllers have been selected as the RAID solutions of choice by Third Wave Corporation and A.T. Works Inc, two Japanese technology product and service providers. Financial details were not disclosed.
Third Wave Corporation, a developer of custom PCs and servers, selected the Adaptec 5805 Unified Serial (SATA/SAS) RAID controllers to power its high-end desktop PC line. Working in conjunction with Intel solid-state hard drives (SSD), the Adaptec controllers are expected to provide the ideal combination of ultra-high data processing speeds and low power consumption.
A.T. Works, an Internet services provider and manager of Japan's largest server farm, selected Adaptec Series 2 and Series 5 RAID controllers for its hosted specialised servers, as well as for various other general use servers.
