PerkinElmer signs agreement with Corning to develop label-free detection technologies

PerkinElmer, Inc. and Corning Incorporated, a designer and manufacturer of specialty glass and ceramic components, have signed an agreement to advance the development of label-free detection technologies. Label-free detection is an enabling technology targeted at addressing many of the challenges in early-stage lead optimization in the drug discovery process.
PerkinElmer is a provider of technology, services and solutions to the diagnostics, academic research, environmental monitoring, and safety and security markets. Both PerkinElmer and Corning are based in the US.
Under the alliance, the companies will combine their expertise in optical label-free and multi-modality detection to develop and deliver detection platforms for life sciences research.
