Cascal NV receives final payment of USD2.7m for sale of Belize Water Services

Water and wastewater services company Cascal NV (NYSE:HOO) declared on Wednesday the receipt of the final payment of USD2.7m from the Government of Belize for the sale of its holding in Belize Water Services. A Cascal sold its 83% interest in Belize Water Services to the Government of Belize in October 2005 for a net cash payment of USD14.9m as well as a deferred payment in the form of four equal promissory notes totalling USD9.9m. A Each of the promissory notes was paid to Cascal in full and on time, as well as payment of accrued interest at 10% on all of the notes, according to Cascal.
