PetroChina Q3 Net Dropped 23.5%

PetroChina Co., Ltd. (NYSE: PTR, SEHK: 0857, SHSE: 601857) achieved net profit attributable to its shareholders of CNY 30.847 billion in the third quarter of 2009, declining 23.5% year on year, the leading Chinese oil titan yesterday announced in its latest financial report.
Operating revenue stood at CNY 267.742 billion, compared with CNY 304.547 billion a year earlier; basic earnings per share (EPS) shrunk to CNY 0.17 from CNY 0.22; and operating profit reduced to CNY 43.875 billion from CNY 48.87 billion.
From January to September, net profits of the Beijing-located oil titan slipped 14.1% from the prior year to CNY 81.348 billion, and its achieved a 9.9% return on equity (ROE). PetroChina had had total assets of CNY 1.424 trillion as of September 30, with a 19% increase from last yearend.
Besides, it witnessed an aggregated oil refining volume of 607 million barrels, down 5.5% year on year, and total output of gasoline, diesel oil, and kerosene inched down 3% to 53.91 million tons.
