Watson Pharmaceuticals signs license agreement with Barr Laboratories for Oxytrol(R)

Watson Laboratories, Inc., a pharmaceutical company and subsidiary of Watson Pharmaceuticals, Inc., has reached a settlement with Barr Laboratories, Inc., a specialty pharmaceutical company, on outstanding patent litigation related to Watson's Oxytrol(R) (Oxybutynin Transdermal System, 3.9mg/24hr.) product. All the companies are based in the US.

Oxytrol is used for the treatment of overactive bladder with symptoms of urge incontinence, urgency and frequency.

According to the terms of the settlement agreement, Watson has granted Barr a royalty-bearing license to the US patents covering Oxytrol(R) to commence marketing a generic equivalent product on April 26, 2015, or earlier in certain circumstances.
