Cypress Semiconductor announced the availability of more than 30 intellectual property (IP) elements for its new PSoC 3 programmable system-on-chip architectures.
The company said the embedded design resources include example projects, application notes and solution overviews, all of which, the company said, enable engineers to implement designs using the new PSoC Creator integrated development environment (IDE).
The company said these new elements also provide design examples for using PSoC 3 power management, LCD segment display and CapSense buttons and sliders.
"The new PSoC 3 and PSoC 5 architectures truly enable a new design paradigm where engineers can intuitively layout a design and let the PSoC Creator tool translate it to silicon," said Matt Branda, product marketing director for PSoC products at Cypress. "The new solution IP Elements on Cypress.com will equip developers with concrete design examples that can be easily emulated to maximize the capabilities of this powerful design platform in their projects."
The Cypress Solutions Library website is a resource of user-generated IP that can be replicated for design with Cypress's programmable PSoC architecture, as well as for designs using Cypress's USB and proprietary wireless technologies.
The new PSoC 3 and PSoC 5 architectures include programmable analog capability (up to 20-bit resolution for an Analog to Digital Converter) and expanded programmable digital resources integrated with MCU cores and ample memory and communications peripherals. The PSoC 3 devices are based on an 8-bit 8051 processor, while the PSoC 5 devices include a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M3 processor.
