Black Diamond Software announced Presto software development appliances.
Black Diamond stated that Presto provides the right combination of IBM software development tools, delivered as VMware appliances, for small to medium sized businesses.
By offering IBM software on a VMware appliance, software teams can get the IBM software they need, preconfigured, and ready to use within minutes. This reduces time otherwise needed to evaluate, install and configure software. Within one day, a team of up to 50 people using Presto can collaborate on a development project with the ability to trace business requirements all the way through QA and release.
Black Diamond reported that Presto also reduces upfront software acquisition costs by offering a leased term licensing model with optional financing through IBM Global Financing.
"When teams can't access the tools they need, they cobble together just-good-enough solutions which lead to risk and failure," said Randy Howie, CEO Black Diamond Software. "We built Presto to make enterprise-class tools available to teams who don't have up-front capital, time, or resources needed to choose, configure and install tools."
Black Diamond is a long-standing IBM Business Partner, and has been recognized as a contributing member of the Rational Ensemble for their leadership in extending value of the IBM Rational Jazz platform. According to Scott Hebner, Vice President of Marketing for IBM Rational, Presto supports IBM Rational's commitment to small and midsize business.
"Much of the innovation we see in today's products and services is driven by small to mid-sized companies. Presto software development appliances are a great way for teams to access the tools they need for effective software development and delivery," Hebner said.
