Fujitsu awarded ICT services contract to manage The Highland Council infrastructure

Fujitsu Limited (TSE:6702) said today that it has been awarded a five year contract valued at GBP66m to manage the ICT infrastructure for The HighLand Council in Scotland.
The contract, which can optionally be extended for a further two years, will include the transformation and modernisation of The Highland Council's infrastructure, systems and services and will include projects for new customer relationship management and the provision of unified communications services across the Council.
The new implementations will be designed to reduce the Council's carbon footprint and through efficiency savings reduce the Council's costs. A Council spokesperson said that the Council expects to achieve savings in the region of GBP6.76m over the next five years.
