Calgon Carbon Corp reports Q3 net income up to USD13.9m

Calgon Carbon Corporation (NYSE:CCC), a provider of services and solutions for making water and air safer and cleaner, declared on Friday net income of USD13.9m (USD0.25 per common share, fully diluted) for the third quarter ended 30 September 2009. A This shows an increase from net income of USD2.2m (USD0.04 per common share, fully diluted) for the same period in 2008. A Net sales for the third quarter of 2009 were recorded as USD107.5m, up 8.5% when compared to third quarter 2008 sales of USD99.1m. A The company said that currency translation had a USD2.3m negative impact on sales for the third quarter of 2009 due to the stronger US dollar.
