Juniper selects Synopsys as primary EDA partner

Synopsys, a provider of semiconductor design and verification software platforms, has announced that Juniper Networks has entered into a multi-year business agreement establishing Synopsys as its primary EDA partner.

Under the new agreement, Juniper will use Synopsys's Galaxy implementation and Discovery verification platforms to meet its chip development needs.

The agreement between the two companies expands Juniper's use of Synopsys's portfolio of products and consulting services, the company said.

The products include the Synopsys Galaxy implementation platform's IC compiler place-and-route technology, Design Compiler Ultra synthesis, Formality power-aware equivalence checking, DFT Compiler, PrimeTime SI signal integrity analysis, and StarRC parasitic extraction; the Discovery verification platform's VCS and HSPICE simulators for functional and analog mixed signal verification; and DesignWare IP.
