DALLAS, Nov 02, 2009 Southwest Airlines is pleased to announce that its Pilots represented by the Southwest Airlines Pilots' Association (SWAPA), voted to ratify the tentative, five-year contract both parties reached last month. The new contract is active through Aug. 31, 2011. The current Southwest Pilot contract became amendable on Aug. 31, 2006. SWAPA and Southwest Airlines began contract negotiations in September 2006.

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Nov 02, 2009 Goodrich Corporation (NYSE: GR) has been chosen by the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA) to further develop its short wave infrared (SWIR) imaging technology for enhanced night vision capability. Under DARPA's Photon Counting Array (PCAR) program, Goodrich will develop materials and circuitry to allow its small, lightweight cameras to provide images under darker conditions than previously possible. Work will be performed at Goodrich's ISR Systems business in Princeton, N.J.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Nov 02, 2009 General Dynamics C4 Systems has been awarded a $7.6 million contract to develop the new KG-530 SONET OC-768C in-line encryptor in support of an NSA initiative to secure and distribute data, at a full 40 gigabits per second line rate, used for government and military missions. The KG-530 will secure very large image, data and video files, classified up to and including Top Secret, that travel through U.S. military and government networks. Once in place on authorized Synchronous Optical Networks (SONET), users will experience significantly less network delay, or latency, common to securing large information files.
