US-based FedEx, a provider of transportation, e-commerce and business services, has appointed William Logue as the new president of its subsidiary FedEx Freight.
Mr Logue will succeed Douglas Duncan, president and CEO of FedEx Freight, who will retire effective February 28, 2010.
To facilitate a smooth transition, Mr Logue will serve as president of FedEx Freight beginning December 1, 2009, and will assume the CEO role upon Mr Duncan's retirement, the company said.
Mr Logue joined FedEx Express in 1989 through the Flying Tiger acquisition. In his current role at FedEx Express, Mr Logue serves as executive vice president and COO for FedEx Express in the US.
In his new position, Mr Logue will be responsible for the leadership and strategic direction of the FedEx Freight segment, which includes FedEx Freight, FedEx National LTL and FedEx Custom Critical.
