Banca IMI, BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank to lead Mediaset's likely bond issue

2 November 2009 - Banca IMI, BNP Paribas (EPA:BNP) and Deutsche Bank (ETR:DBK) will manage Italian commercial broadcaster Mediaset SpA (BIT:MS) possible bond issue for EUR300m (USD443m), Il Sole 24 Ore reports without naming sources.

The final decision on the issue has not been made yet but is expected in the coming days.

A board meeting has been scheduled for 10 November to adopt the third-quarter results and it is highly probable that the managers would also give a go-ahead to the bond project.

According to the rumours, the bond issue will have a duration of five to seven years.

As reported by Il Sole 24 Ore on 13 October, and by other media during the weekend, the media group has been considering a bond issue for a long time. In the past days such possibility was confirmed by Mediaset chairman Fedele Confalonieri who revealed that such a project was on the CFO's agenda.
