Northern Trust named North America's top private lender

3 November 2009 - US financial holding company Northern Trust (NASDAQ:NTRS) has been ranked the best private bank in North America by Professional Wealth Management and The Banker magazines, both published by the Financial Times Group.

Northern Trust's outstanding capacity and willingness to serve clients first, its family concentration and investment in customer-friendly technology have propelled it to the top spot in the highly competitive North America category, said Yuri Bender, editor-in-chief of Professional Wealth Management.

The award was presented at a ceremony in Geneva on 27 October.
