Evolution Robotics' LaneHawk system integrated with NCR POS and self-checkout solutions

Technology company NCR Corporation (NYSE:NCR) and retail industry solutions provider Evolution Robotics Retail Inc (ERR) said on Wednesday that ERR's LaneHawk is now available with NCR POS and self-checkout solutions.

Designed to eliminate losses from items left in the bottom of checkout baskets, LaneHawk combines video with patented object recognition technology to detect and identify items left in the bottom of the basket during checkout. The system alerts cashiers and automatically enters bottom-of-basket items into the shopper's order.

LaneHawk has now been integrated with NCR's Advanced Checkout Solution (ACS) software and with the NCR SelfServ Checkout solution.

Pricing details were not announced.
