'T-Mobile UK, Orange UK sign final merger agreement'

Deutsche Telekom and France Telekom have completed due diligence and signed a final agreement to combine mobile networks T-Mobile UK and Orange UK into a 50/50 JV. This binding agreement confirms the terms of the deal announced in September, with completion conditional upon approval by regulators and the Deutsche Telekom and France Telecom boards. The companies still expect the transaction to be completed in first half 2010. Deutsche Telekom CFO Timotheus Hoettges said the JV was based on the full commitment of Deutsche Telekom and France Telecom to a long term partnership.
