Aruba and Motorola settle patent dispute

Companies: Aruba Networks Inc (ARUN), Motorola, Inc. (MOT), Symbol Technologies, Inc. (SBL)
Aruba Networks (Nasdaq:ARUN) and Motorola Inc (NYSE:MOT) announced today that they have reached an agreement which will settle all outstanding intellectual property disputes between the two companies. The agreement also covers the Motorola subsidiaries Symbol Technologies Inc, Wireless Valley Communications Inc and AirDefense Inc.
The companies said that the disputes involved patents owned by both companies and the settlement includes a cross-licensing agreement.
In addition, both companies said that they intend exploring avenues of mutual interest and collaboration on improving the all-wireless enterprise.
There was no indication whether any financial payments have been agreed.
