L&T wins contract from Mahagenco to supply boiler turbine generator units

Indian engineering and construction conglomerate Larsen & Toubro has secured a contract valued at INR68.97 billion from Maharashtra State Power Generation Company for three 660MW super-critical boiler turbine generator units.

Maharashtra State Power Generation Company (Mahagenco) has said that its 1,980MW project, when commissioned, in Koradi, 20km from Nagpur in Maharashtra will add close to 50 million units to the national grid every day.

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has said that its advanced supercritical thermal sets will ensure higher plant efficiencies and lower greenhouse gas emissions.

Under the total engineering procurement construction contract, L&T's scope includes design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of super-critical boilers, steam turbine generators and associated auxiliaries besides substantial balance-of-plant equipment and services such as transformers, plant electricals, controls and instrumentation system and civil and architectural work.
