Yemeni president vows to continue fight against rebels

Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh vowed on Saturday to continue fighting against Houthi rebels until ending the insurgency in north, state-run Saba news agency reported.

In his speech on the occasion of starting the exportation of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), President Saleh said "no conciliation, no truce and no stop for the war until uprooting the aggressive rebel and traitor gang in Saada," warning that the "real war" has just started two days ago.

President Saleh also accused other Yemeni parties of collaborating with the Houthi rebels for personal interests, referring to the opposing Southern movement.

"Not everything going in Saada is committed by Houthi rebels, some others who think their own interests were harmed follow the same path...This happens in some southern provinces. When someone fails to find a job opportunity or loses certain privileges, he says I will join the Southern movement. This is a kind of racketeering and irresponsibility," the president was quoted as saying.

The past two days witnessed confrontations between Saudi army and Houthi fighters after they crossed into Saudi territories, killed a soldier and wounded 11 others. The Saudi army then sent reinforcements to its southern borders to fight the rebels who they accused of occupying parts of its territories.
