Jiangsu Procurement Delegation to Visit Taiwan Firms

Jiangsu procurement delegation arrived in Taiwan on November 9, 2009 and is to visit AU Optronics Corp. (TPE: 2409) and Chi Mei Optoelectronics Corporation (TPE: 3009).

Jiangsu Province is said to strive for cooperation with the two Taiwan-based panel makers. Jiangsu is the most active region for trading with Taiwan and gathers most Taiwan-based companies.

The Mainland China regulators actively push the development of the panel industry, said Taiwan-based companies. Local governments make various preferential policies to back up companies set up plants.

Samsung Electronics plans to set up a 7.5G liquid crystal display (LCD) panel production line in Suzhou, Jiangsu, east China. LG Display settles down its 8G LCD panel production line in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, south China.

Chi Mei Currently owns LCD module plants in Ningbo and Guangzhou. The company is the largest panel supplier in the mainland.

Chi Mei was reported to set up panel plant in Guzhou. However, it has no essential plan due to regulation limitations.
