GAMCO announces special cash dividend of USD2.00 and Q4 dividend of USD0.03 per share

The board of directors of manager of private advisory accounts, mutual and closed-end funds GAMCO Investors Inc (NYSE:GBL) declared on Friday a special dividend of USD2.00 per share and a fourth quarter dividend of USD0.03 per share to all class A and class B shareholders.

The special dividend will be paid on 15 December 2009 to all class A and class B shareholders of record on 1 December 2009, while the quarterly dividend will be paid on 29 December 2009 also to the class A and class B shareholders of record on 15 December 2009.

GAMCO stated that these payments were consistent with its goals of compensating shareholders with a minimum 40% of its earnings in either stock buybacks or dividends.
