IBM opens Business Analytics Center in Bangalore

IBM has announced the launch of a new Business Analytics Center of Competency in Bangalore, India to focus on the rapidly expanding business analytics market.
The company said the center is expected to staff over 200 consultants to collaborate with local clients to craft advanced solutions that apply analytics to complex information-based challenges. The center will also provide capabilities for clients in the world's emerging growth markets.
The center will have experts in Web 2.0 analytics, risk and fraud analytics, financial analytics, customer analytics and enterprise business analytics strategy. The company said the experts in advanced customer analytics and social media analytics will help clients in the telecommunications, retail and financial services industries to improve customer service and retention.
The center will also support the company's recently announced network of global Business Analytics Solutions Centers. In addition to business analytics, the company has created four other centers of competency in the areas of strategy and change, banking/financial markets, telecommunications, and energy/utilities.

The company recently announced the launch of its Health Analytics Solution Center in Dallas to help hospitals and medical staff improve decision-making and provide higher quality care. The centers are part of its business strategy to expand its capabilities around business analytics. The company has opened four analytics solution centers in Berlin, Beijing, New York and Tokyo, with plans to open two more centers in London and Washington, DC. It plans to train 4,000 analytics consultants and professionals globally as part of the initiative.
