Universal Electronics Adds to Board of Directors

Universal Electronics (UEI) announced the appointment of Carl Vogel to the Board of Directors of UEI.
The addition of Vogel brings the company's total board count to seven. Vogel is a Class II director and will be up for election at the company's Annual Shareholders Meeting expected to take in place in June of 2010.

"Carl's extensive experience in the cable television, satellite, telecom and content sectors is a valuable asset as we execute on our strategy to win new customers globally and deepen our relationships with existing customers."
Vogel is a partner at SCP Worldwide, a sports, media and entertainment company that owns and operates a variety of high profile companies including the National Hockey League's St. Louis Blues and Major League Soccer's Real Salt Lake. Vogel is also a member of the Board of Directors and Audit Committee of Shaw Communications and a member of the Board of Directors of Dish Network, as well as an advisor to the chairman and CEO. He was formerly the president, CEO and director of Charter Communications.
