Asia Pacific Region Software Revenue to Hit USD22.1bn

The Asia Pacific Region is predicted to achieve a software revenue of USD 22.1 billion in 2010, with a 10.2% increase, and it will see a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10.8% in software expenditure from 2008 to 2013, the highest level in the world, according to Gartner, Inc., a leading IT research and advisory company globally.

In the coming five years, China, Vietnam, and India will separately witness CAGRs of 14.6%, 12.4%, and 10.7% in software expenditure, and the figures will stand at 9.5% and 9.4% in Australia and Singapore.

The high CAGRs in China and India benefit from their large software user bases and government-led economic stimulus policies, as well as a low penetration in the software market, pointed out Gartner.

Remarkably, China's software growth rate will hit 12.2% and 14.5% in 2009 and 2010, and it will continue leading the software demand growth in the Asia Pacific Region.

Besides, the expenditure growth rate of application software will globally keep a stable level of 9.9% in the next five years.
